What Arrives, and What Happens on Day One

Nobody at your school unpacks a kit or follows assembly instructions.

  1. Purchase order

    You raise a PO against your sanctioned budget. We send a proforma invoice first if your finance office needs one.

  2. Delivery

    The system is delivered to your school anywhere in India, included in the price.

  3. Installation and levelling

    Our technician assembles the frame in your lab and levels it. A level frame is what makes the ±1 mm repeatability meaningful.

  4. Calibration and tool test

    All three axes are homed and calibrated, and every one of the five tools is cycled and verified.

  5. Handover and first lesson

    We do not leave until a teacher has run a sequence themselves and taught one lesson with us in the room.

What Students Actually Do

The machine is not the lesson. What students do with it is. They write the sequence that plants a row, predict where the tool head will stop, measure where it actually stopped, and work out whose error that was. They set a watering schedule, watch what happens over three weeks, and change it. They read soil moisture at root depth and argue about what it means.

A machine that ran itself and needed nobody would teach nothing. Edenix is deliberately something students operate.

Safety

Low voltage at the bed

The system runs on 24 V DC. Mains voltage is confined to the power supply, not the working bed, so supervised students can operate the machine directly.

It Runs Without Internet

Edenix ships with an on-premise Raspberry Pi 5. The web app and the assistant run on your own network. The machine keeps working through an internet outage, and no student data leaves your campus, because there is nowhere for it to go.

Wi-Fi is optional and only needed if you want to reach the system from outside the lab. If your IT policy blocks new devices from the internet, that policy does not block Edenix.

What Your School Provides

Floor space for a 5 × 10 ft bed with room to walk around it, a standard power point on a stabilised and earthed supply, and a water source. One nominated teacher or lab assistant for the training handover.

Questions Principals Ask

How many students can actually use it?

In a class of 30 we suggest groups of four to five rotating through the machine while the rest work on the worksheet. Across a year a single system comfortably reaches 100–200 students. Our cost-per-student working uses 150 a year as a typical figure.

Who maintains it?

Day to day, a nominated teacher or lab assistant, whom we train at handover. The maintenance is light: seed and water refills, keeping the rails clear, occasional belt tension. Anything beyond that is covered by warranty in the first year, and by the optional AMC after.

What if the teacher who champions it leaves?

This is the most common way lab equipment dies, so we planned for it. The curriculum is written to be picked up by someone who was not there at installation, and remote refresher sessions are available for the life of the system so a new member of staff is never left with equipment nobody knows how to run.

What happens during school holidays?

You can leave a watering schedule running and the machine will look after the bed unattended, or shut it down and start a fresh planting when term resumes. Neither harms it.

Does it need internet?

No. It ships with an on-premise Raspberry Pi 5 and runs entirely on your own network.

What does it cost to run?

Roughly 250 Wh a day, which is about ₹45 a month at ₹6 per unit. There is no subscription and no software renewal.

Is it safe for Class 6?

The working bed is 24 V DC and there are no chemicals involved. With the supervision the curriculum sets out — a verbal call before any movement, loose clothing secured, a reachable cut-off — Class 6 students can operate it. Younger classes usually watch and record rather than drive.

What if it breaks?

One year on the structure, six months parts-and-labour on-site for electronics and drive, and we hold spare parts for seven years. Full warranty terms.
